I'm not sure if the security alarm on my 2002 Honda accord is functioning
When l use the keyless entry lock, all the door locks go down but the
lights do not flash at all, there is no ''beep and the security light near
the drivers door next to the lock dose not blink, light up or anything to
indicate it is working. To test if it was alarmed, l left the drivers
window down, locked the car with the remote (like before) and then
unlocked the door by pulling up the lock and then opened the door. No
alarm sounded. When l have the car locked with the keyless entry and use it again to un-lock the car, the locks go up, the cabin lights come on and all exterior lights flash twice. Which seems like normal disarming. HELP PLEASE! I've only had the car less than a week and it is my first Honda.
There are too many variables to say whether or not ur alarm is
working correctly. Does ur car have an aftermarket alarm? Some work with
the factory remote, so look for a red LED that looks like it isn't
original, it may be mounted below the steering wheel. If you have an
aftermaket alarm, who knows how its supposed to work. There are just too
many of them out there to say definitively. I personally don't like
aftermarket alarms, & if ur car came with an alarm from the factory, have the aftermarket one removed. As an example of what aftermarket alarms can do, my brother is car had one, & if he unlocked the doors while he was driving, it would set the alarm off! If you have only the factory alarm, look in the owner is manual, it will tell you how the alarm should work. Some can be personalized, others cannot.
