Garage Door Question -- Help!
Already got some goodbut thought I'd try again before l get started.
/> Problem:The only remote control transmitter for my garage is in my
car, which is in the garage. Problem is that there is no other way into the
garage. No windows, doors. Breaking down walls is not an option. The
exterior handle with lock is not connected in any way to the automatic
apparatus. Tried to trip the sensor with a bent hanger under the door, to no avail. Any other ideas? Would a universal remote work if l do not have access to the main unit, nor have any original remote codes? What damage will attempting to jack the door up do? If l have to put a hole in the door -- standard metal garage door --what tool would you suggest?
Look up locksmiths in your city directories and talk to one
whose specialty is garage door since he might have the universal door
opener that is compatible with many brands.
Boy im sorry man. I really feel for you, that has to suck. The
only thing I can think of find a way to knock the door off the track or
jack it up, which would break the garage door opener. There really is no
other way. Is the a vent of any kind in the garage? If there is a gable
vent in the siding or something you could remove it & send a child in.
There really isnt a tool you could get unless somehow you could find
someway to pull the release cord on the garage door opener. May I suggest putting in a window or access door? I would do this anyways & then you could get in. ill sleep on it & get back to you if I get anymore ideas. Sorry!!
a drill will make a small hole in the door. Then a saber saw
could cut out a piece of metal. My tools are in my garage so if ur door
should be aluminum, then you could start scoring it with a razor knife
until it goes through.
The universal remotes I've seen have 10 # that are either up or down, so
guessing is probably something to make a career of.
Maybe you find those guys that ride around neighborhoods with some sort of universal broadcast remotes to open doors before they rob the garage.
Carry remote in pocket,close door after leaving garage.
